Patrick Bergin
Reviews Featuring Patrick Bergin
This 'abused wife becomes empowered woman' film has potential, but after a good start it never manages to examine the subject to the depth it deserves.
A quietly subtle drama exploring how easily humanity gets locked away during conflicts which admit no compromise - a sensitive reflection on the climate of 1980s Northern Ireland which is equally relevant for today's 'War on Terror'.
Derivative and disposable it may be, but Ella Enchanted is a surprisingly entertaining fairytale flick for the whole fam.
