Pete Postlethwaite
Reviews Featuring Pete Postlethwaite
Marvellously directed and well-acted, but a dirty and wholly unrewarding experience, containing major plot-holes thanks to a complete disregard of what went on in the previous movie.
A nicely-packaged collectors item which anyone whos a fan of the series will love. Anyone else would be better off just getting the first two that ways cheaper, and you really wouldnt be missing out on much.
Good movie, good movie, wherefore art thou good movie?
This psychological chiller drips with atmosphere, but compared to the Japanese original its ending is something of a damp squib.
To be taken with a large pinch of salt, Solomon Kane is a generally enjoyable yet ultimately flawed fantasy adventure.
Calling Clash of the Titans a 'run of the mill actioner' would be too kind to this vacuous, pretty boy swords and sandals borefest. And what has happened to Liam Neeson - why did his agent allow him to appear with big hair and a shiny, silver jumpsuit?
A good detective thriller made great by an eye-opening ending. It's just such a shame that, unless you've been living in North Korea or in Josef Fritzl's basement for fifteen years, no-one will come to this movie untouched by the hype.
One of Hollywood's great historical epic adventures floating in a sea of missed opportunities, Mann perfectly mixes action, romance and good characterisation. Also, only one of two films that have ever made me weepy. The other being Little Nicky - different reasons.
Like an attractive newsreader, Inception is intelligent, pretty and makes you think, which is a novelty nowadays in the world of the blockbuster. An extremely well-executed heist movie with a twist and another success for Christopher Nolan.
Ben Affleck's latest image enhancing effort is like a superhero movie with a cop-killing bank robber as the guy to root for. Uneven characterisation and cringeworthy cliches let this otherwise fairly gripping heist thriller down.
