Jackie Earle Haley
Reviews Featuring Jackie Earle Haley
The director of 300 has once again taken a classic graphic novel and brought it to the big screen with obvious affection, and while that sometimes makes this a little too literal of an adaptation, its still full of truly special effects and super performances.
Another Scorsese classic, its not the horror film it was touted as, but thats OK, because its just plain good.
Remakes arent always a bad thing, but the lack of charisma from the leads and the script that feels like it was written by six different people who never met converged to make this a mostly bad thing with a few good bits.
A dark tale with a couple of chuckes makes this more of the same from Tim Burton - master of the Gothic and of Helena Bonham Carter. Poorly put together and not all that funny, Dark Shadows in nonetheless an easy, fairly entertaining watch.
