American Cousins

A low-key but surprisingly entertaining little film that even gives us a new genre: mafia whimsy.

Animal Factory

Professionally-made, but unremarkable.

Pure

Well-acted, but not particularly memorable. Harry Eden's one to look out for in the future.

Good Boy!

An ever-so-slightly feeble fam-com to end the year on a bit of a dull note.

Alien Hunter

Mildly entertaining in places, but utterly predictable and never remotely thought-provoking.

Punch-Drunk Love

An absolute triumph.

Half Past Dead

One of those God-awful movies that’s so bad it actually starts to become a little enjoyable. Note the use of the phrase “a little” in there.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Quite possibly the best movie ever made.

The Accidental Spy

It’s stupid, but it’s also decent entertainment – and anyone who considers themselves an action movie fan MUST see the truck sequence. No excuses.

The Fighting Temptations

Great as a musical, awful as a comedy. You’d be as well just buying the soundtrack.
