Freaky Friday

Probably the best body-swap comedy since 'Big', and it certainly wipes the floor with the dismal 'The Hot Chick' from earlier this year.

The Shining

One of the horror genre’s finest, this isn’t a film to watch if you’re about to spend the winter alone. In a hotel. Full of ghosts. And axes.

Undercover Brother

And it only gets that much because of the decent soundtrack.

Eight Crazy Nights

One of the worst cartoons ever made. Sandler’s made a few stinkers in his time, but this one out-stinks all of them.

The Good Thief

Always dark, often grimy, and never particularly interesting. Give it a go from the rental store, but don’t waste your money on buying it.

Human Traffic

Unless you’re a member of the taking-drugs-is-big-and-clever mob, give this one a wide berth.

Wayne's World 2

Unoriginal and lacking the spark of the first movie, but it’s still great – if brainless – entertainment. Thank God you still get movies like this that are completely prepared not to take themselves remotely seriously.

Brother Bear

The best thing about it is probably that it’s instantly forgettable. This is probably the most completely average film of the year.

Timeline

Quite possibly the least inventive time travel flick of all time. ‘Timewaste’ would have been a far more appropriate title.

Cowboy Bebop: Tengoku no tobira

A stylishly created piece of anime – the storyline’s a little cluttered, but it’s still decent entertainment.
