A dark tale with a couple of chuckes makes this more of the same from Tim Burton – master of the Gothic and of Helena Bonham Carter. Poorly put together and not all that funny, Dark Shadows in nonetheless an easy, fairly entertaining watch.
Comedy
Up There
An original comedy gem about the afterlife that’s both darkly sarcastic and moving. As close to real British humour as you can get.
21 Jump Street
Don’t be put off by the awful trailers, a shocking concept and Channing Tatum in a comedy role, 21 Jump Street is great fun with lots of great jokes and excellent performances.
Little Nicky
Harvery Keitel, Reese Wetherspoon and Rhys Ifans why, oh why, did you do it? An Adam Sandler effort that’s simply not funny.
The Artist
The Artist is a talkie life-lesson with some of the best dialogue ever heard on screen. A must see for all fans of Dawson’s Creek. Honest.
One for the Money
For once, this below par rom-com chick flick is no reason here to crucify Katherine Heigl as she does her perky best with the flimsy material at her disposal. Not quite as fun and likeable as the makers and the fans of the books would have been hoping for.
