The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

An expected minor letdown as the first part shows that Peter Jackson should have just stuck to one (or two at most) epic length movies not three. Not bad but a little underwhelming.

Craig and Mendes put in an above average turn in the Bond series. Some great action sequences sit uneasily next to some extremely mediocre ones but the story and the fascinating bunch of characters keep things interesting.

Trollhunter

This faux-footage offering from Norway is simultaneously funny, innovative, ridiculous and sometimes a little scary. It’s an enjoyable study into the real life world of trolls – as long as you can look past the cartoony appearance of the CGI beasts.

Iron Man

Made when a one-man Robert Downey Jr. show was novel and a lot less annoying, Iron Man is a successfull comic book adaption with a nice balance of humour, plot and action.
