Whether regarded as a postmodern study of the paradoxes of art and identity, or just viewed as a series of amusing, intricately related episodes, this bold Hollywood satire has something – but perhaps not quite enough – for everybody.
Romance
Bull Durham
A fine appealing romantic comedy with much to recommend it, although it does seem a little dated in parts.
Tin Cup
Gentle and entertaining romantic sports comedy typical of much of Costners work.
Shrek
Entertaining and at times hilarious, this is one of the best modern day animated features around.
The Bodyguard
Superficial but pleasant romantic thriller that lacks substance but has a certain charm. It shouldnt work but somehow gets away with it.
The Pillow Book
This stunning and exotic story of love, death and immortality is amongst director Peter Greenaway's better work.
