Quentin Tarantino is a genius, and this is his masterwork. Exuberant, inventive, kinetic, violent and fun, it grabs your attention right from the beginning and never lets go. Quite possibly the reason cinema was invented.
Thriller
Batman Returns
The best Batman film entertaining and visually fantastic. Youll never look at penguins in the same light again!
They
Despite being almost completely overlooked upon its original cinematic release, and resorting desperately to the 'Wes Craven presents' imprimatur to gain attention, 'They' is an atmospheric, carefully controlled piece of psychological horror about the impossibility of casting light upon the irrational. Its subtle use of shadow and gloom is best appreciated with the lights turned down, but do keep in mind that 'they come for you when it's dark'.
Swordfish
Decent thriller with some fabulous cinematography and lots of action.
Young Adam
A well-made and well-acted film with a distinct indie feel to it. Just a pity David Mackenzie couldnt find a better tale to give his big screen adaptation treatment to.
Ransom
Great Friday night popcorn fodder well worth a rent.
