Not quite a kids’ movie, but not exactly for adults either, this little boy and his monster friends are surprisingly melancholy, interspersed with some subtle humor, in a film that’s interesting but lacks some inexplicable spark.
Fantasy
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Heath Ledger’s final performance will bring this reasonable movie more attention than it probably deserves.
The Invention Of Lying
Clever? Certainly. Funny? Not really.
Dorian Gray
Dorian Gray has it’s redeeming features but it all seems a bit underwhelming more of a BBC2 period drama deemed too hot for TV.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Nowhere near as good as the first but still a fun time, this Pirates installment keeps the story moving and gives us all the stuff we want and expect, even if its not as new as it used to be.
Enchanted
More than just a princess flick, Enchanted takes all the best parts of the fairytale world and comes up with a clever and completely entertaining addition to the world of Disney heroines.
