Forget the controversy surrounding the brutal violence, The Killer Inside Me is a well-acted, thought provoking film noir impressively told from the twisted point of view of a serial killer.
Action
Starship Troopers
Paul Verhoeven is at his crazy best with this mixture of B-movie shoot-em-up and anti-Imperialist critique. It’s much deeper than it would seem at first glance but it’s also great fun.
[Rec] 2
A vastly inferior sequel that just doesn’t grab the viewer’s attention like the original. Explanation over-load removes any hint of mystery and proves to be [Rec]2’s major downfall.
MacGruber
Not the best or the worst in the checkered family tree of SNL films, its cast gives it a boost, and it really is funny sometimes.
The Bad Lieutenant – Port of Call: New Orleans
Nicholas Cage is back on form with this impressive Herzog police thriller remake high on surreal humour and narcotics. Not one of Herzog’s best but a pleasing watch nonetheless.
Lost (Season 6)
There were a few lulls, but overall, the last season of the television phenomena offered some of the best episodes of the show.
