Just Visiting

Appealing comedy without pretensions, having some good gags and a fair amount of slapstick.

Killing Me Softly

A creepy chiller that aspires to greatness but doesn’t achieve it. This film will successfully fill a couple of hours but then be forgotten.

Kurt & Courtney

A collection of conspiracy theories, the film is most interesting because of the insights it offers into the backgrounds of both Cobain and Love. It goes some small way towards satisfying the morbid curiosity that surrounds Cobain’s death, but never quite provides enough detail or evidence to be convincing.

Dawn of the Dead

A fine and definitive example of the zombie genre that has continued to hold up well in spite of its age.

City of God

Gripping and authentic true story of life amongst Rio’s forgotten poor, where violence is a way of life even amongst children. Not to be missed.

Manhunter

This one is every bit as good as its later remake, some say better. The film stands up well on its own and will also appeal to those who like Hannibal’s later reincarnation.

The Hannibal Lecter Trilogy

This is an outstanding collection of three films featuring the iconic Dr Lecter. One of the best DVD buys on the market.

K-19: The Widowmaker

This gripping submarine disaster story has plenty of style and suspense, and the relationship between the characters makes it really worthwhile.

Lone Star State of Mind

This is a passable fun and frantic humorous crime caper that will appeal most to teenagers and young adults.

Billy Elliot

Outstanding performances make this one of the best British films to date. Men and women both will find it touching, funny and enriching.
