I’m afraid you probably won’t be afraid of Don’t be Afraid of the Dark, A very middle of the road horror film that’s not great but okay for a bit of mindless entertainment.

Ben Affleck’s latest image enhancing effort is like a superhero movie with a cop-killing bank robber as the guy to root for. Uneven characterisation and cringeworthy cliches let this otherwise fairly gripping heist thriller down.

A glorious tale of what you can do with you put your mind (and a few hundred slaves) to a task that includes the South American jungle, an opera obsessed nut and an inconsiderately placed mountain.
