Night Watch

It has a few problems, but overall, this first installment in the Watch trilogy will pull you in with its unique approach to fantasy and adventure.

Up

Should’ve known a studio that’s made us love a robot with no dialogue and rat living in a kitchen could make a story out of anything, but I had no idea they could make me cry, laugh, and feel as happy as I did with Up.

City of Ember

Suffering from a lack of promotion and marketing, City of Ember never had the audience it deserved, but time will prove this cautionary tale of independent thinking is also a beautifully made, exciting adventure tale that works on many levels.

Saw II

Not as good as the first but still good, Saw II takes us back into Jigsaw’s world and gives us even more fun and bloody stuff to look at.

There Will Be Blood

The film itself is lacking in some areas, but Daniel Day-Lewis’s masterful performance is plenty of reason to watch this story of one oilman’s struggle and ambition.

The Incredible Hulk

Not bad if you’re looking for mindless but good-looking action with no real storyline.

Kung Fu Panda

Better than your typical “family” film, Kung Fu Panda has all the laughs, love, and action you could hope for in any movie, let alone one about a noodle-selling panda doing Kung Fu.

Changeling

Changeling is solid drama from Eastwood and Jolie, and despite some over the top characterizations, it’s definitely a suspenseful tale of a corrupt system and the woman brave enough to take it on to save her son.

Pride and Glory

If you can get through the lackluster first hour of this cop family gone wrong saga, you’ll be rewarded with a well-acted, suspenseful crime thriller.

Mirrors

Clunky in some scenes, decent in other, Mirrors is an unevenly scary flick that’s utterly predictable yet still kinda scary.
