Priest

No doubt a fun ride with some things going for it but Priest is just a vacuous airhead that’s completely letdown by a lack of substance.

Something Borrowed

Something Borrowed is a film that took two hours of my life and I don’t think I will get them back. This is the romantic comedy equivalent of the Nuremburg Trials.

The White Ribbon

Poignant, intelligent and beautifully minimalist, Hanecke pulls off another of his deep open-ended masterpieces. As to be expected though , it’s none to cheery.

Thor

Shows what happens when Mr. Shakespeare takes on Marvel comics. Ridiculous.

Sucker Punch

It’s big, loud, brash and ultimately pretty fun but, at the end of the day, Sucker Punch is filled with paper-thin characters and doesn’t really make any sense.

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The Coen Brothers once again show what you can do with perfectly realised characters, an awesome soundtrack and a wonderful storyline. A depression-era movie that’s far from depressing.

Rescue Dawn

Christian Bale and Werner Herzog is a match made in heaven in this prisoner of war film with a heart. Rescue Dawn is a real testament to the power of the human spirit and, for once, I actually mean that.

The Social Network

John Guzdek likes this.

The Departed

For once it’s a remake of an excellent international offering that seems worth it thanks to Scorsese doing what he does best and a wonderful ensemble cast.

Tell No One

Ignore the title and tell everyone about this latest engrossing thriller from ze French.
