A dark tale with a couple of chuckes makes this more of the same from Tim Burton – master of the Gothic and of Helena Bonham Carter. Poorly put together and not all that funny, Dark Shadows in nonetheless an easy, fairly entertaining watch.
Fantasy
Wrath of the Titans
Different Director, more of the same. Wrath of the Titans is boring confusing and unspectacular and hopefully signals the end for this failed franchise.
John Carter
Andrew Stanton’s disappointing sci-fi epic is all style and no substance. Teenage boys are better off playing a video game whereas female admirers of the male form should just flick through a guy’s underwear catalogue instead.
Black Sheep
Ewere baaaadly mistaken if you think this sheepish effort is anything more than an average horror comedy that needs more sheep puns. There are some funny visual gags but not enough amusing dialogue to back it up.
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
Don’t be put off by the synopsis. A film about perfume and sniffing really can be a dark, intriguing thriller.
Immortals
A perfectly watchable swords and sandals gorefest. Nothing more.
