Tron was the acceptably naff face of geekdom back in the Eighties and it’s not as cutting edge as it seemed at the time but is still good fun nonetheless.
Science Fiction
Skyline
This alien invasion mini-epic is let down by unlikeable characters, boring action and a setting that just doesn’t grip you. After letting myself get taken in by the hype I’ve been left a broken shell of a man. How can I believe in anything anymore?
Ben 10: Alien Swarm
One for the die hard Ben 10 fan, but unlikely to convert the passing viewer.
Devil
Not a bad little movie, even without the Shyamalan directing it feels like he was all over it, but it was probably better in its short story form.
Inception
Like an attractive newsreader, Inception is intelligent, pretty and makes you think, which is a novelty nowadays in the world of the blockbuster. An extremely well-executed heist movie with a twist and another success for Christopher Nolan.
Predators
A pointless rehash with Adrien Brody in very uncomfortable territory, Predators may please some unfamiliar with the original, or Adrien Brody, but will leave the rest feeling hollow and unfulfilled.
