Dragonfly

A slow film in which the main character's spiritual journey rarely seems to make much progress. A must for Costner fans, of course, but unlikely to make much impact on anyone else.

High Crimes

This is a decent thriller with convincing performances. You don’t necessarily believe the story, but the film is engrossing enough to be worth suspending your disbelief for a couple of hours and taking it at face value.

Killing Me Softly

A creepy chiller that aspires to greatness but doesn’t achieve it. This film will successfully fill a couple of hours but then be forgotten.

Dawn of the Dead

A fine and definitive example of the zombie genre that has continued to hold up well in spite of its age.

S.W.A.T.

'S.W.A.T.' puts together a police squad loaded with so much brainless testosterone that it ends up being just a bunch of balls. How much fun will you get from it? S.Q.U.A.T.

Tattoo

A police investigation into the depths of human depravity and obession, where beauty is only skin deep. Dark, moody and horrifying.

Cabin Fever

A seamless pastiche of 1970s and early 1980s horror, resulting in a blend of mean-spiritedness, gore and comedy that is truly infectious.

City of God

Gripping and authentic true story of life amongst Rio’s forgotten poor, where violence is a way of life even amongst children. Not to be missed.

Manhunter

This one is every bit as good as its later remake, some say better. The film stands up well on its own and will also appeal to those who like Hannibal’s later reincarnation.

The Hannibal Lecter Trilogy

This is an outstanding collection of three films featuring the iconic Dr Lecter. One of the best DVD buys on the market.
