Buried

Who would have thought that watching Ryan Reynolds in a coffin for ninety minutes would be well-acted and tension-filled but Cortés manages it. Now for Adam Sandler in a coffin, minus the camera.

Devil

Not a bad little movie, even without the Shyamalan directing it feels like he was all over it, but it was probably better in its short story form.

The American

All the pieces are here to make a good movie, but The American lacks any real entertainment value.

Machete

Danny Trejo finally has a starring vehicle, and it’s a beautiful mess of blood, action, hot girls, and fun that never slows down long enough to lose its way.

The Girl Who Played With Fire

The Last Exorcism

Not necessarily SCARY horror, The Last Exorcism is more subtle and character-driven than you might think, which is a good thing, but it loses its way and squanders its potential.

Takers

There’s really nothing here to like, and for all its stars and all its ambition, it’s pretty much just dull.

The Expendables

Read all about it – Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren in poor acting shocker! As was always going to be the case, bags of testosterone filled action rescues The Expendables from being plain awful and makes it a fun watch instead.

The Secret in Their Eyes

A worthy Oscar Winner that expertly blends mystery, romance, comedy and suspense to create a really moving and satisfying watch.

Heartbreaker

Romance, laughs, action, gangsters – there’s something for almost everyone in this slick Monte Carlo-set French romcom
