No doubt a fun ride with some things going for it but Priest is just a vacuous airhead that’s completely letdown by a lack of substance.

The White Ribbon
Poignant, intelligent and beautifully minimalist, Hanecke pulls off another of his deep open-ended masterpieces. As to be expected though , it’s none to cheery.
Sucker Punch
It’s big, loud, brash and ultimately pretty fun but, at the end of the day, Sucker Punch is filled with paper-thin characters and doesn’t really make any sense.

The Departed
For once it’s a remake of an excellent international offering that seems worth it thanks to Scorsese doing what he does best and a wonderful ensemble cast.
Battle: Los Angeles
A war film with aliens that looks good but shows a total lack of intelligence. To borrow an expression: you can’t polish a turd.
